CASARA Winnipeg will be the host zone for Western Canada SAREx 2010
We will provide a realistic major search scenario. Each participant should have the opportunity to meet their currency requirements. We expect that each crew will fly three, 2.5 hour or shorter flights during the exercise. Some flights may be over water for extended periods.
The event will be based at the CASARA Provincial Training Centre at St Andrews Airport (CYAV), ten miles north of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Accommodations for out of town participants will be provided in the city of Winnipeg. A shuttle service will take participants between the airport and hotel.
Flying will take place on Saturday 21 August from approximately 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from approximately 9 am to noon. There will be a meet and greet / general briefing on Friday 20 August from 8 pm. All crews should plan to arrive no later than 7:30 pm CDT.
There will be a group dinner on Saturday evening at the hotel. Dress for the dinner is flight suits, CASARA clothing, or equivalent civilian dress.
